On September 21st 2017, Koppert Kenya officially launched Panoramix in an exciting 2-hour event. The launch was held in Eldoret, a region also known as “the food basket” of Kenya, during the Eldoret Agribusiness Fair at the University of Eldoret. The September occasion enjoyed the support of key stakeholders comprising of the medium and large-scale farmers, input distributors, officials from both private and public institutions, central and county governments, research institutions and seed companies.
The event was intended to introduce our unique and innovative seed dressing product for use in cereals such as maize and wheat. Panoramix has been proven to increase crop resilience, improve yield and quality of cereal produce such as maize and wheat, thereby increasing farmer income. We believe that if adopted widely, the product has the potential to positively improve food security in Kenya.
The launch event was graced by Mr. Frans Makken -The Netherlands Ambassador to Kenya, Mrs. Mary Nzomo, the Chief Officer in charge of Agriculture County Government of Trans Nzoia among other top public and private officials. In her the keynote address, Mrs. Nzomo said that the product is a welcome introduction into the market. She further noted that it has come at the right time when farmers are facing challenges of food productivity on their farms.
In a side interview with Oscar, a farmer from Trans Nzoia, had this to say about the new addition “I am optimistic that we have the right product that will help us increase on our productivity and enhance food safety. We look forward to working with Koppert and are ready to use it in the next planting season.”
